November 10, 2022: The board of directors of Nitta Gelatin India has approved an INR 1.1 billion expansion plan, according to a BSE filing.

The current capacity of 450 metric tonnes will be increased to 1,000 MT “to tap the growing opportunities in the collages peptide market.” The company will decide on the mode of funding later.

Nitta Gelatin India, formerly Kerala Chemicals and Proteins Limited), is a joint venture of Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation and Nitta Gelatin Inc.

The company makes gelatin and collagen ingredients for the food, dietary supplement, and pharmaceutical markets. It has 15 facilities across six nations and was founded in Osaka, Japan.
